Who this type is for
A naked bike suits riders who want a natural street posture for villa-to-beach days and slower village roads. You sit up, you see over the traffic, and your wrists are not carrying your weight at walking pace — which is most of what riding in Canggu actually is.
It is not a scooter and not a tall adventure bike with a large screen. You shift gears yourself, and the seat is low enough that a foot on a cambered road is not an event.
What a naked bike is like on Bali roads
The upright bars make low-speed control easy, which matters at the Batu Bolong junctions and on the narrow lanes around Pererenan where you move at a crawl for minutes at a time. Wind protection is the trade-off: above about 70 km/h on the bypass you carry the airflow on your chest, so a long Uluwatu run is more tiring than on a bike with a screen.
Without a fairing there is also less bodywork to damage in a slow drop, and less plastic trapping engine heat over your legs in stationary traffic. On a hot afternoon on Jalan Raya Canggu that difference is noticeable.
Engine size and licence
Our naked bikes sit in the 250 class, which in Indonesia is covered by a SIM C for local licence holders — SIM C runs up to and including 250cc. Visitors ride on a home motorcycle licence plus an IDP, and many home licence categories are capped by engine size, so read yours before booking a 250 rather than a 155.
If you are returning to a clutch after years on automatics, the 155-class street bikes in the fleet are the easier start. Nobody has regretted a bike that was calm in Bali traffic.

Pickup is at Treasure Bike Rental on Jalan Raya Padonan, Tibubeneng, Monday to Saturday 09:00–17:00 WITA. Villa delivery in the Canggu zone — Berawa, Pererenan and Tibubeneng — is free; other Bali zones are priced at checkout.

Take a naked if most of your riding is Canggu itself — cafes, villa lanes, the daily crawl. Take a sport bike only if you already enjoy clip-on bars and will spend hours at pace toward Uluwatu. Clip-ons in stop-start traffic get old within a week.
Do I need a special licence for a 250cc naked bike?
Not in Indonesia for a 250 itself — SIM C covers up to and including 250cc. What can catch you is your own home licence or your travel policy, both of which are often capped by engine size. Read those before you book.
Can I carry a passenger on a naked bike?
Yes, and it works better than on a faired sport bike — the pillion seat and grab position are usable. Both riders need helmets, every trip. Tell us at booking if you will ride two-up daily so we do not hand you a machine that is uncomfortable on day two.
